Simple Minds in Lisbon
A very special tour dedicated to their most loyal fans from one of the most famous bands from the 1980s, Simple Minds. Why is it so special? Because they will only play songs from their first five albums… and a surprise or two.

Simple Minds was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in the late 70s, when Charlie Burchill and Jim Kerr joined by Brian McGee, who was the band’s drummer during their first stage, gave life to this experimental music project that mixed post punk, eurodisco, pop and new wave. However, it had a mixed reaction from the british charts. The sound of the first album was quickly changed because in the same year as their first release (1979), they released another album with a darker sound more characteristic of the band called ‘Real to real Cacophony’, where they fully immersed themselves into a sound that was more new wave, although with darker touches. Despite the good reviews and how appreciated this work is today, back then it went unnoticed in the record shops.
The third album of the band, ‘Empires and Dance’, followed an experimental line, looking for that unique sound that would later make them, when they were signed by Virgin Records, famous in the USA. The two albums that come after are from 1981 and 1982, ‘Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call’ and ‘New Gold Dream’. From the latter, they’ll play five songs in the second part of the concert that, as you can imagine, is going to be a long one.
The concert that they will play in Lisbon, that will last 2h 30, will take place on February 14th, Valentine’s Day, at 9pm at the Coliseo Dos Recreios in Lisbon. Unmissable!
